May 2, 2025 – Low-Cost Gas Laws Demonstration Using Arduino

Water bottle and gas law experiment.

This webinar is Complete

Unlock the Secrets of Gas Laws with Our Interactive Experiments

Dive into the fascinating world of energy physics with presenter and energy faculty Ken Mecham with a hands-on experiment that visually demonstrates the relationship between pressure, volume, and temperature. Using a simple plastic bottle and an affordable temperature/pressure sensor, this project connects to an Arduino microprocessor with an LED display for real-time data.

Experience the magic of Boyle’s, Charle’s, and Gay-Lussac’s Laws like never before! Our project provides analog outputs that make these fundamental principles come to life. Plus, you can log pressure and temperature data in Excel using Data Streamer, allowing you to compare your results with Gay-Lussac’s Law calculations (P1T2=P2T1). Remember to convert temperatures to Kelvin for accurate results.

Perfect for students, educators, and science enthusiasts, this is your gateway to understanding the core concepts of gas laws through engaging, practical experiments using inexpensive components.
