March 7, 2025 – Two Energy Lessons for Your Classroom!

Lightbulb in a box with a book. Think outside the box.

This Webinar is Complete!

Join us for an engaging CREATE Energy Webinar with instructor Greg Hogan where we’ll explore two dynamic, hands-on lessons that bring electricity to life in the classroom!

Lesson 1: The Electric Spider
Kick off your Electricity Chapter with an exciting activity that demonstrates static electricity in action! Students will create an “electric spider” and use PhET simulations, including Static Electricity and John Travoltage, to explore electron transfer and its effects on materials. This lesson combines hands-on experimentation with digital simulations for an interactive learning experience.

Lesson 2: The Cost of Using Electricity $$$
Make energy usage personal by having students calculate the cost of electricity in their own homes! This math-meets-science activity sparks engaging discussions about energy consumption, fossil fuel costs, and alternative energy options. Plus, get ready for an energetic twist—students will represent their household energy use with pushups and jumping jacks!

Don’t miss this opportunity to gain fresh ideas for your classroom!

This webinar is part of the CREATE Innovation series and runs approximately 30 minutes.
