Since before Edison’s light bulb, which Lewis Latimer made possible by patenting a carbon filament making process, American energy would not exist in its current form without Black leaders shaping the industry. And yet clean energy companies have failed to bring Black representation above the single-digit percentile within their workforce.

ACP COO Kelly Veney Darnell will lead this conversation with the Founder & CEO of Volt Energy Utilities, Gilbert Campbell, and the CFO of Triple Oak Power, Kenneth Labeja. They will discuss their personal experiences in the industry, the opportunity energy companies have to recruit influential Black talent, how to create an environment to retain and promote diverse talent and the role of ACP as a voice in the industry.
