Greetings from Madison Area Technical College!
We’re excited to invite our community, partners, and energy enthusiasts to a special event celebrating a major step forward in sustainable infrastructure on campus. On April 20th from 2–4 PM, Madison College will host a ribbon cutting and guided tour of our newly installed Solar PV + Battery Energy Storage system at the Protective Services Building.
This innovative project features a 180 kWdc ground-mounted solar photovoltaic system paired with a 200 kW / 400 kWh lithium-ion battery storage system. Together, these technologies represent a powerful commitment to clean energy, resilience, and hands-on learning opportunities for students.
The project was made possible in part through an Energy Innovation Grant from the Wisconsin Public Service Commission, highlighting the importance of public investment in advancing renewable energy solutions.
Installation was completed by Ethos Green Power Cooperative, whose team will be on-site during the event to provide tours and share insights into the system’s design, functionality, and real-world applications. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about how solar generation and battery storage work together to support energy efficiency and grid reliability.
Whether you’re an industry professional, student, educator, or simply curious about energy, this event offers a unique chance to see cutting-edge technology in action.
We hope to see you there as we celebrate this exciting milestone!
