For Nick Jarolimek, the term “like father, like son” holds true when it comes to his chosen career path and his education at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College (NWTC). Five years ago, while working with his dad at Automated Logic, a corporation focused on building automation systems and sustainability, Nick learned about the Energy Management Technology Program at NWTC. After enrolling in the program, Nick was impressed with NWTC’s smaller class sizes, which allowed him to connect with the faculty to explore career options and get extra guidance along the way.
“The work-based technology and the structure of the program have helped me to become a more responsible employee”, says Jarolimek. “It really helped change my attitude, communication, and work ethic, making me a well-rounded employee with a solid energy skill set.”
Currently, Nick is a Field Engineer in Building Automated Systems at Automated Logic. He plans to stay in the energy field, working towards a supervisory position in the near future. When asked if he had any advice for future students he said, “be adaptable to situations and always ready to learn more. Energy is a very professional and rewarding field with great financial and personal benefits.”
