Energy and sustainability courses rely on current data, but textbooks often become outdated. This webinar explores how tools like ChatGPT and Gemini can help instructors and students create real-time data visualizations using the latest energy data.

Drawing on classroom experience at Hawai’i Community College, the session will demonstrate how AI can generate code for graphs such as bar charts, pie charts, and trend analyses. This approach improves accuracy while making complex energy data more accessible.

Participants will also learn how AI-assisted coding can introduce students to data analysis and computational thinking without prior experience, helping build skills in data literacy and critical thinking. Practical strategies will be shared to support engaging, up-to-date instruction in energy and sustainability.

Join us to learn how to bring real-time energy data and AI tools into your classroom and enhance student engagement.

When: Thursday, May 7 at 11:30AM PST/1:30PM CST/2:30PM EST. This is part of the CREATE Innovation series and runs approximately 30 minutes.

Presenter: Dr. Yining You, Physics & Astronomy Instructor, Hawai’i Community College
