Fall 2021 Call for Teaching Tricks, Tips and Ideas for Energy Educators

Solar Panel and Wind Turbine

Hello CREATE Energy Faculty,

Do you have a great idea to share with your energy colleagues? Would you be willing to give a webinar on a topic and earn a $300 stipend?” The CREATE team is looking for teaching tricks and tips for the FY 2021-22 school year.

Last year, CREATE sponsored a Call for Innovative Ideas to showcase the incredible work you have done to integrate technology keeping your students engaged and learning during the height of the pandemic. Colleagues in our CREATE community were selected by their peers and presented their ideas this past spring which are now available on our website.

Building on this success and in an effort to highlight the additional pedagogical approaches you have integrated into your programs, the CREATE team is excited to introduce the 2021 Teaching Tricks, Tips, and Ideas for Energy Educators. Submissions will be accepted in five unique categories:

  • Gender and Racial Equity
  • Teaching for Online, Hybrid and HyFlex formats
  • Student Recruitment and Retention
  • Tools, Technology, and Equipment
  • Other Tips, Tricks, and Ideas that Enhance your Teaching Strategies

We hope you will consider sharing your ideas with your colleagues by submitting a one-page description and summary of how it contributed to the success of your program or your students by Friday, October 29, 2021 to the CREATE Project Manager, Gabrielle Temple at gabrielle.temple@canyons.edu.

A panel of your peers will review the submissions and up to six faculty will be selected to present a 15-minute webinar in January 2022 to share their ideas. The presentations will be highlighted on the CREATE website and available for download by other faculty.  Selected faculty presenters will receive a $300 stipend for sharing their tips, tricks, or ideas during the webinar.

We look forward to your submissions and the opportunity to recognize your creative efforts and work with you to share your tips, tricks and ideas with our community of energy educators.
